Ohio Republican Party Files Elections Complaint

Dan Konik
Ohio Voters

The Ohio Republican Party is taking issue with the Ohio Democratic Party over its slate card that has been sent to Ohio voters.

The Ohio Republican Party has filed a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission alleging the Ohio Democratic Party violated the Federal Election Campaign Act in slate cards and sample ballots it sent out in several counties, supporting Hillary Clinton and other Democratic candidates. The Republicans say the ODP didn’t disclose on those mailings that they were paid for with millions of dollars from the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, and that not making that disclosure is a clear and obvious violation of federal election law. In a written statement, Kirstin Alvanitakis of the Ohio Democratic Party says the ODP is still reviewing the complaint, but is confident in everything it has done.
