It's been almost a week since stores throughout the state have pulled many cans or pouches of moist pet foods. Many companies are asking their products be pulled because of unexplained kidney failure in animals that appears to be caused by something in moist pet foods. Veterinarians throughout the state have been answering questions from concerned pet owners. In an interview with Ohio Public Radio's Jo Ingles, Dr. Lauren Durocher of the Ohio State University Veterinary Hospital explains pet owners have reason to be concerned.
The problem has been limited to cans and pouches of various varieties and brands of dog and cat foods. Packages of hard kibble type foods are not affected by the recalls. |
