Mourners who came to the Statehouse today to honor Congressman Paul Gillmor also saw a silent but moving memorial to those lost on September 11, 2007. John Poole is the communications director for the Ohio Community Service Council, which set up thousands of small flags on the Statehouse lawn this morning. He talked with Ohio Public Radio's Karen Kasler about the display.
Some 50 volunteers spent three hours planting the flags into the Statehouse lawn, and Poole says he was impressed by the number of people passing by who joined in to help. |
