Senators pass bill to set up emergency alert system for missing senior citizens.
By Bill Cohen - November 14, 2007
For several years now, Ohio has had an "amber alert" system to get out the word when children go missing. Now, state legislators are working on setting up a similar system to get out the word when elderly Ohioans go missing. Sen. John Carey is sponsoring the measure.

The idea of setting up a statewide alert system for missing senior citizens has just been approved by the Ohio Senate on a vote of 30-0. Now, the plan moves to the Ohio House.
Sen. John Carey (R-Wellston) (:27)
