Ohio's Secretary of State wants the state's largest county to use paper ballots with an optical scan system in the upcoming March 4 primary. Jennifer Brunner's decision settles a dispute among leaders of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. She says this is the best method for dealing with problems that are unique to Cuyahoga County.
Critics of the change say there's not enough time to make the switch. The switch will cost about $2.5 million. Brunner says state and federal dollars might be available to help with the cost of making the change. |
