Some elections officials in Cuyahoga County are concerned results from March's primary election won't be immediately available using the new system recommended by Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner. She's asking the county to tabulate paper ballots using electronic scan machines. Her spokesman Jeff Ortega says other counties use those machines without encountering major problems.
Ortega says Brunner realizes Cuyahoga County is large and might have its own unique difficulties. Ortega says the Secretary of State wants to work with leaders of the Cuyahoga County Elections board to address their concerns about using the new system. |
