Watch This Week's "The State of Ohio" Online
Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. And more thoughts on legislation that would dramatically change rules on unions in Ohio.

Quick-cash loans, teacher walkouts and "career criminals" under discussion at the Statehouse.
By Bill Cohen - January 28, 2008
Sixty different proposals for new Ohio laws are being considered this week by state legislators. The full Senate and House won't be voting on them. Instead, legislators will be hearing testimony about them in committee. Among the topics: payday loans, teacher strikes, repeat criminals, and some extra cash for veterans of recent wars. From our statehouse news bureau, Bill Cohen has this preview.
