Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. Obama is the first of the two presidential candidates to take the stage at NAACP convention.
By Ann Thompson - July 14, 2008
Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama says now is the time to give tax breaks to companies that will create jobs in the u-s. He told 8,000 NAACP delegates last night in Cincinnati he's been advocating that for years as a public servant.

Obama also told the delegates that pain in the economy trickles up and that the US does better when CEOs and mainstream America are aligned. And Obama said he wants to make sure every child gets a world class education. His proposal to pay teachers more would also place more demands on the schools where they teach. But Obama says he recognizes improving education will have to be a joint effort.

Tomorrow, delegates will get the Republican take on the economy, on education, and more as John McCain addresses the convention.
