OU grad student escapes battle in Georgia, wonders about US role in fighting.
By Fred Kight - August 11, 2008
Ohio University graduate student Daniel McBrayer is now out of the Republic of Georgia and no longer in jeopardy from the invasion of that country by Russia. The Associated Press is reporting the Russian president has ordered a halt to the military action. WOUB News talked with McBrayer yesterday as he was on his way from Georgia to Armenia.

The 33-year-old McBrayer was studying in Tblisi but left when the fighting intensified. He says people were wondering why the U-S is not doing more to help.

McBrayer was planning to stay with friends in the capital of Armenia and eventually fly back to the United States. However, he expected that would take several days.
