Ohio politicians are saddened by the death of Massachusetts Sen. Edward Kennedy. Gov. Ted Strickland says he knew Kennedy for many years, and is remembering him as an extraordinary public servant and voice for the less fortunate. |

| Republican U.S. Sen. George Voinovich calls his Democratic colleague a man of convictions and resolve, and says Ted Kennedy's thoughtfulness helped when a Voinovich nephew waged a losing battle with bone cancer. Fellow Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown is traveling back from Afghanistan, but his office issued a statement calling Kennedy a friend and mentor who was committed to social and economic justice. |
