Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. And more thoughts on legislation that would dramatically change rules on unions in Ohio.

Start of deer season brings opening of hotline for hunting questions and poacher tips.
By Bill Cohen - November 23, 2009
The Ohio Division of Wildlife's "hotline" is now open for business. The hotline is 1-800-WILDLIFE. It became operational Saturday for the annual youth deer gun season, and will continue to accept calls until December 6. That includes the regular, one week deer gun season which begins November 30.

Susie Vance is a spokeswoman for the Wildlife Division. She says hotline operators take calls regarding regulations and questions from the field. People are also encouraged to call to report violations of state wildlife laws. That number is 1-800-POACHER. Tipsters who call may be eligible for a cash award.
