For the past decade we've heard many stories about the decline of manufacturing in the Midwest - the collapse of the steel industry, throwing thousands out of work; and once thriving auto plants downsizing or closing altogether, also displacing thousands. But, as go those big corporations like LTV Steel and the Detroit automakers, so go thousands of smaller companies that grew up around them. As President Obama prepares for a community forum he's hosting tomorrow at Lorain Community College, David C. Barnett from Ohio Public Radio station WCPN spoke with some small business owners in Greater Lorain to find out what they'd like to tell the president. |
