Republican representative officially joins race for state treasurer.

Republican state Rep. Josh Mandel has filed petitions with the Ohio Secretary of State to run for Ohio treasurer.

The 32 year old needs 1,000 valid signatures to get his name on the statewide ballot. On the Democratic side, current state treasurer Kevin Boyce plans to run for re-election to the post.
