Ohio has executed the convicted killer whose lethal injection was delayed a week after he tried to commit suicide. Lawrence Reynolds Jr. was put to death this morning in Lucasville. Associated Press reporter Matt Leingang was one of the media witnesses for the execution. He says the condemned inmate, Lawrence Reynolds Jr., made a curious last statement.
Reynolds was put to death for robbing and strangling his 67-year-old Akron area neighbor in 1994 to get money to buy alcohol.
