Secretary of State and candidate to replace her battle over order on changing parties for primary.
By Jo Ingles - March 29, 2010
Republican State Senator Jon Husted is taking issue with a directive Democratic Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner recently issued to local boards of elections.

Sen. Jon Husted (R-Kettering) (:24)
Jeff Ortega (:21)
But a spokesman for Brunner, Jeff Ortega, says his boss is just reminding local boards to follow an already established state law when it comes to switching parties to vote in a primary election.

It's no secret that Brunner is locked in a tight U-S Senate primary race with democratic Lieutenant Governor Lee Fisher. If the race ends up being close, votes will be scrutinized. Husted hints politics might have something to do with Brunner's decision to issue this directive. Husted himself is a candidate for Secretary of State. He is asking Brunner to rescind this directive but so far, she hasn't done that.
