Wind turbine business blowing jobs and money into Ohio, says trade group.
By Bill Cohen - April 19, 2010
The trade group for the U.S. wind energy industry says Ohio is on the verge of becoming a major player. Ohio does not have a lot of wind turbines generating a lot of electricity, but Elizabeth Salerno of the American Wind Energy Association says Ohio is reaping the benefits of new jobs, manufacturing turbine parts. In an interview with Ohio Public Radio's Bill Cohen, she talks about that growth.

The American Wind Energy Association says it could grow even faster in Ohio if property taxes on turbines were lowered here. Bills in the Ohio Senate and House would drop those taxes to levels that surrounding states have.
