Ohioans who gathered on the Statehouse lawn on Earth Day were able to see a variety of displays about green energy and hear from business, community and political leaders about the importance of it. But it was a new car that stole the show. A prototype of the Chevy Cruze was unveiled. David Green, the President of the United Auto Workers Local 1714, says this new car does far more than get a gas mileage of 40 miles per gallon on the highway. He says this car helps many Ohioans put green in their pockets too.
Green says the manufacturing jobs that are necessary to make the new car will help Ohio's bottom line. Mass production of the Cruze is set to begin immediately in Lordstown. |
