Ohio executes seventh killer this year after he apologizes to survivor and victims' families.
By Karen Kasler - August 10, 2010
Ohio has carried out its seventh execution this year. 38 year old Roderick Davie of Warren in northeast Ohio was put to death by lethal injection at 10:31 this morning for killing his former co-workers Tracey Jeffries and John Coleman and trying to kill William John Everett in 1991. Youngstown Vindicator reporter Mark Kovac witnessed the execution and heard Davie make his final statement directly to the family members of the victims who were there to see him die.

And Kovac says while Davie wasn't a so-called volunteer who wanted to die, he didn't fight.

Davie had confessed to the murders and attempted killing, which happened months after Davie lost his job. Kovac says Davie spent hours on the phone with family members in the day before his execution, but none were in the death house to witness it.
