Lawmakers plan rare session outside the Statehouse, to honor military personnel who died on duty.
October 1, 2010
The Ohio legislature is planning a rare joint session outside of the statehouse. On Nov. 10th legislators will pass out nearly 200 specially designed medals to families of military personnel who were killed in the line of duty. State Senator Tim Grendell says the event will honor their sacrifices but it will also have a message. He quotes George Washington's farewell address.

The Republican from northeast Ohio says the ceremony will put things into perspective during this economic downturn. The military award ceremony will take place just three blocks from the statehouse at the Columbus' Veterans Memorial

Sen. Tim Grendell (R-Chesterland) (:10)
