Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. And more thoughts on legislation that would dramatically change rules on unions in Ohio.

Smoking ban backers say support is still strong, even as bar says it will take ban to court.
By Karen Kasler - November 18, 2010
Four years after voters approved a statewide ban on smoking in workplaces, support for that ban is stronger than it was then. The organization SmokeFreeOhio says a poll it conducted shows 69%of Ohioans still like the indoor smoking ban, which passed with 60% of the vote in 2006. John Hoctor with the American Cancer Society says this poll shows complaints about the ban don't have widespread support.

Meanwhile, a Columbus bar says it will take the ban to the Ohio Supreme Court. Zeno's has racked up more than $33,000 in fines for violations of the smoking ban. An appeals court says the owners of Zeno's repeatedly and intentionally violated the law, though a previous court had ruled the bar couldn't be held responsible for the actions of its patrons.
