Head of state agency helping elderly Ohioans says she's ready to retire from that job.
By Jo Ingles - November 29, 2010
The head of Ohio's Department of Aging says she is going to retire. Barbara Riley has worked in various capacities of state government for 20 years. She's helped served Ohio's poorest residents through work in the Department of Job and Family Services and most recently, served Ohio's oldest residents in her current role. Riley explains she's announcing her resignation now, before incoming Gov. John Kasich appoints her replacement. But Riley says she will serve through until the end of her appointed term. She says she doesn't know what the future will hold for the aging department when Governor-elect Kasich takes office.

Barbara Riley (:28)
Riley says she wants to work from the outside to help people understand things that are currently not widely understood, such as health reform or issues facing aging Ohioans.
