Former US House Speaker Newt Gingrich was in Columbus today, and the possible presidential hopeful had high praise for new governor John Kasich. Gingrich said he had hoped to meet with Kasich today, but his plane was late. But Gingrich says he has not talked with Kasich about the possibility that the former Ohio congressman would join his campaign as his running mate. |

| Gingrich was in Columbus for a panel discussion on the future development of ethanol in Ohio and across the US. Gingrich calls himself a strong supporter of ethanol, which he says can help create jobs and increase incomes in rural areas while helping the environment and stabilizing the US energy supply. |
