Oil lobbyist explains why gas prices are rising when crude oil prices aren't.
By Bill Cohen - August 27, 2011
Ohio gasoline prices have shot up 15 cents a gallon, just since the beginning of the week. The latest statewide survey by AAA, the Oil Price Information Service, and Wright Express pegs the latest average cost for regular at $3.66. That’s up from Monday’s price of $3.51. The price of crude oil has not been rising much recently. So the question is: why are gas prices? Ohio Public Radio’s Bill cohen posed the question to Terry Fleming, lobbyist for the major oil companies in Ohio.

Fleming thinks the latest hike in the price of gasoline will be only temporarily. While the average price across Ohio has risen 15 cents over the past few days…..at some stations, the price has risen 25 cents.
