Three years ago, Ohio legislators passed a new law, requiring that the state’s electric companies get a growing chunk of their power every year from renewable energy. The mandate says that by 2025, that chunk must grow to at least 12.5%. Now, though, one republican state senator is calling on his fellow lawmakers to wipe out the mandate. He says he’s doing it for consumers. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen reports. |
