Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. And more thoughts on legislation that would dramatically change rules on unions in Ohio.

Civil rights group representing gay teen severely beaten at southern Ohio high school.
By Jo Ingles - November 14, 2011
The Ohio Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union is now representing an openly gay, 15-year-old Unioto High School student who was violently beaten by another student at that Chillicothe area school last month. The ACLU’s James Hardiman says he wants Unioto High School to make changes to prevent this type of thing from happening again. But he says the school doesn’t need to develop an anti bullying policy.

Hardiman has sent a letter to the school asking it to take actions to make the school safer for his client and other students who are the subject of bullying.
