Former Ohio Supreme Court Justice Thomas Moyer and some groups that say they want accountable government have extolled the idea of public financing for campaigns for seats on the state’s highest court. Two Democratic representatives are introducing a bill that would create a public financing system for candidates running for those offices. In an interview with Ohio Public Radio’s Jo Ingles, Rep. Jay Goyal explains the public financing would be voluntary. |

| Goyal says he would like to someday see public financing offered to candidates for state legislative seats as well. But, at this point, Goyal says there isn’t enough money to offer that option. |
