Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. While one expert predicts a spike in gas prices, another puts the brakes on that forecast.
By Karen Kasler - January 11, 2012
Even though winter isn’t even halfway over, there’s speculation that the unofficial start of summer will bring a spike in gas prices in Ohio. An analyst for GasBuddy.com has suggested gasoline could go to more than $4 a gallon around Memorial Day. But Terry Fleming with the Ohio Petroleum Council says that’s unlikely, even though the demand for gasoline is up a little now.

Fleming says gas prices tend to be lower in Ohio than in most states, because there are four oil refineries in the state that keep transportation costs down and 5,000 service stations, which fuel price wars.
