Even though winter isn’t even halfway over, there’s speculation that the unofficial start of summer will bring a spike in gas prices in Ohio. An analyst for GasBuddy.com has suggested gasoline could go to more than $4 a gallon around Memorial Day. But Terry Fleming with the Ohio Petroleum Council says that’s unlikely, even though the demand for gasoline is up a little now.
Fleming says gas prices tend to be lower in Ohio than in most states, because there are four oil refineries in the state that keep transportation costs down and 5,000 service stations, which fuel price wars. |
