New report by drug industry shows Ohio is a leader in clinical trials.
By Jo Ingles - June 13, 2012
Ohio is a leader when it comes to clinical trials of treatments to deal with various illnesses. A new report by the drug industry group, Pharma, shows almost half of the trials conducted in Ohio during the last 13 years target major diseases like asthma, cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes and mental illnesses. Andy Doehral, head of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, says this news is not only good for patients but also the state’s bottom line.

The report shows, since 1999, about 5,000 clinical trials of new medicines have been conducted in Ohio.
