An eight month old Iraqi girl is still in danger, but doctors in Columbus are fighting to save her life, thanks to the persistence of an Ohio doctor. Lt. Col. Todd Fredericks, whos serving near the Iraq-Iran border, met Fatemeh Hassan when her mother sought treatment for a growth on her neck its the size of two softballs, and its threatening her breathing. Fredericks called a friend at Childrens Hospital in Columbus, and told Ohio Public Radios Karen Kasler that the hospital, the US military and many other agencies moved into action to get the infant to Ohio. |
