Advocates for social welfare programs in Ohio are stepping up their campaign to block the proposed repeal of the recent hike in the state sales tax. Theyre warning about big cuts in programs for senior citizens, the poor, and the retarded. But the main mover behind the tax repeal drive insists none of those cuts would be needed, because Ohio could make up the money gap by changing the way it pays nursing homes. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen reports. |
