A proposed new two-year state budget for Ohio calls for people to pay more in gasoline taxes, in sales taxes, and in fees for license plates, but it does not call for developers to pay higher fees when they seek government approval to put a shopping center or an apartment complex on top of a wetland. Environmental groups are complaining about what they say is a glaring inequity. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen files this report. |
