| Ohio's Actions About Two Pension Funds
Lost. |
|
By Jo Ingles - April 8, 2002 |

Ohio Attorney General Betty Montgomery wants the state to recover losses from
a telecommunications company in California that went bankrupt. Two pension funds
for state employees lost more than $115 million when Global Crossing filed for
bankruptcy in January. The AG's spokesman, Joe Case, says the state wants to be
lead plaintiffs in a national class action lawsuit against the company. |

Jo Ingles reports (2:18)
|
|
| Case says Ohio has a pretty good shot of becoming the lead plaintiff in the suit because Ohioans lost so much money as a result of the scam. He says it's important to realize that even though Ohio's pension funds lost more than $115 million, there's nothing for employees to worry about. Case says that loss is just a small portion of the $104 billion total in assets. |
