Give more money to schools but don't forget us. That's the message that children's service agencies across Ohio are sending to state legislators. The agencies say they have a record high number of children in foster homes - more than 35, 000 because they've been abused or neglected by their birth parents.
Crystal Allen works for a statewide coalition of childrens service agencies. In an interview with statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen, she says: if there were more help for the parents to get their own lives together, more of the children could return to their original homes. |
