| Kucinich Wants Baseball Back on Free TV. |

(Cleveland-AP) - Congressman Dennis Kucinich is trying to force major league baseball back onto free TV He says he's flying to Washington today to introduce a bill that would require major league teams to offer the broadcast rights for games to local, free TV stations before going to cable networks. The Cleveland Indians this year are airing all but a handful of their games on cable stations. Kucinich said at a news conference at Jacobs Field this morning that baseball teams get tax breaks paid for by taxpayers, so all taxpayers should get to watch the games, not just those with cable. He says his fear is that the next step is baseball games will become pay-per-view, and his bill is an attempt to stop that. |
