New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. For the first time in more than thirty years, the U.S. Senate and House held separate sessions today to debate the legitimacy of an entire state delegation to the electoral college. The debates were live on C-SPAN, and were sparked by members of congress who challenged President Bush’s election victory in Ohio, the one that clinched the national election for him. In the end…congress voted to confirm Bush’s victory….but not until some tough verbal sparring…..that highlighted several Ohio politicians. From our statehouse bureau, Bill Cohen has details. |
