Order Online : "The State of Ohio"

Automaker donates "green" SUV to promote Ohio-grown fuel.
By Jo Ingles - February 9, 2005
One of the nation’s leading automakers is donating a specially designed sport utility vehicle to Ohio as part of an effort to promote increased usage of ethanol. General Motors is providing Chevrolet Avalanches to 28 states that are members of the Governor’s Ethanol Coalition, a bipartisan group of governors devoted to the use of the corn based product. GM’s Connie Scarpelli says the company is making these environmentally friendly vehicles but wants to enlist the help of government in getting the infrastructure needed to make them a more popular alternative with consumers. Since sales are based on supply and demand, GM is hoping that consumers will start demanding ethanol at their local gas stations.
