Pro-life and pro-choice activists spar over witness who claims abortions cause mental problems.

The decades-long debate over legalized abortion is flaring up once again at the Ohio Statehouse. This time, the focus is on a proposal that would block about twenty public hospitals from performing abortions unless they were necessary to save the mother’s life. The measure would also stop counties and townships from providing their employees with subsidized insurance that covers most abortions. At a legislative committee hearing on the bill today, backers and opponents squared off over whether abortions spark mental health problems for women. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen reports.
