What are being called “scattered glitches” have plagued today’s voting in some parts of Ohio….but the state’s top elections official says – overall, the process is going smoothly. The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that in Butler County, at least 6 polling places opened as much as a half-hour late…and phone lines in Hamilton were jammed with hundreds of calls mostly from poll workers with questions. The Toledo Blade reports that some voting machines in Lucas County were not running when the polls opened, so some voters left without casting ballots. Still, a spokesman for Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, says the problems were few and far between, especially when you take into account that 44 counties used new electronic voting machines for the first time. Carlo Loparo talked with statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen.
