Since 2004, Christian conservatives have been making headlines across Ohio. That’s because they’ve been credited with helping pass an anti-gay-marriage constitutional amendment and helping win Ohio and the national election for President Bush. Now, some clergy who are opposed the growing evangelical political movement are fighting back – with a complaint to the Internal Revenue Service. It charges that two key conservative churches have violated conditions of their tax-exempt status. Ohio Public Radio’s Bill Cohen files this report. |
