Ohio waterways are keeping up their improved safety record. Only eleven people died in boating accidents last year on Ohio rivers and lakes. The total over the past three years was half the number for the three-year period before that. John Wisse of the Ohio Division of Watercraft says improved safety is actually a long-term trend. He talked about with Ohio Public Radio's Bill Cohen.
As John Wisse of the Wildlife Division puts it: "It's become less socially acceptable to get really plowed and be on a boat." |
