Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. And more thoughts on legislation that would dramatically change rules on unions in Ohio.

House Speaker proud of accomplishments, but won't be around for power shift next month.
By Jo Ingles - December 24, 2008
When lawmakers come back to the Statehouse in January, Democrats will lead in the House of Representatives. Republicans have led in that chamber for the past fourteen years, and for the last four years, Jon Husted of Kettering has been the speaker. He's leaving the chamber because of term limits. In an interview with Ohio Public Radio's Jo Ingles, outgoing House Speaker Jon Husted talks about what he considers to be the greatest accomplishments of the House under his leadership.

Democrat Armond Budish will lead the Ohio House in January when the new general assembly is sworn into office. Husted will move on to the state Senate.
