OU scientist who's become quite the TV star gets a big check for his research.

An Ohio University paleontologist who's a regular regular on the National Geographic and the Discovery Channels is still doing research here in Ohio. Lawrence Witmer just received a grant of $180,000 from the National Science Foundation.

Witmer's often seen in TV talking about prehistoric anatomy. He's received seven NSF grants and says that he will concentrate on the question of how birds evolved from dinosaurs. Witmer's lab was among the first to apply CT scanning and computer visualization to paleontological research.
