Years ago, Ohio legislators endorsed the Great Lakes Compact, an agreement among the neighboring states that they won’t let other regions or countries siphon water away from any of the Great Lakes. By 2013, though, Ohio has to enact new water-use standards because it's part of the compact. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen reports business groups and some Republican legislators have unveiled their proposal for those standards, but environmentalists don’t like it. |
