Backers of the drive to let Ohio voters decide the fate of the state’s new collective bargaining law say they’ve collected nearly half of the petition signatures they’re seeking to put the law up for a statewide vote in November. | Critics of the law hope to collect at least 450,000 petition signatures by the end of June. They figure about 40% may be tossed out as invalid, but by gathering that many signatures, they plan to make sure they have at least 231,000 valid names - the legal threshold for putting a referendum on the ballot. |
