Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. And more thoughts on legislation that would dramatically change rules on unions in Ohio.

Progressive group files new lawsuit to stop privately-funded JobsOhio from moving forward.
By Jo Ingles - July 22, 2011
The groups that filed a lawsuit against the state over the JobsOhio program have filed a new motion, asking the state’s highest court to stop the state from moving forward with plans for that program. In an interview with Ohio Public Radio’s Jo Ingles, Brian Rothenberg of ProgressOhio explains his group wants the Ohio Supreme Court to grant an immediate restraining order against the state.

Rothenberg says his group has serious questions about the constitutionality of JobsOhio for several reasons. Gov. John Kasich says JobsOhio, the new non profit private board that will oversee job creation in Ohio, will be able to compete better with businesses because it won’t be bogged down by unnecessary rules and regulations.
