Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. And more thoughts on legislation that would dramatically change rules on unions in Ohio.

Ohio State Fair will be hot, and will also have the hottest delicacy on the fair circuit.
By Karen Kasler - July 25, 2011
If the heat index is near the triple digits, it must be time for the Ohio State Fair. The 158th Fair opens on Wednesday at the state fairgrounds in Columbus. General manager Virgil Strickler told Ohio Public Radio’s Karen Kasler that while the fair celebrates the industry Ohio was founded on – agriculture – he says the event is embracing modern technology, with a new food finder app.

This will be the first year that Ohio-made beer and wine will be sold, at the Celeste Center during concerts and at the Taste of Ohio Café. And each night of the fair will close with fireworks. The Ohio State Fair runs July 27 through August 7.
