Good news from insurers on car theft rates for Ohio's major cities.
By Bill Cohen - June 22, 2012
Ohio cities are not national leaders in one category. An insurance industry group has used preliminary FBI statistics to rate more than 300 cities across the country on their car theft problem, and no Ohio cities are on its "top ten" list. Seven cities in California are among the ten worst. But several Ohio cities do show up on the overall list. Mitch Wilson is with the Ohio Insurance Institute, and he gives details in this interview with Ohio Public Radio’s Bill Cohen.

Wilson says the number of vehicle thefts in Ohio has dropped for seven straight years, and when the final numbers for 2011 are confirmed, it’s likely that that will constitute an eighth straight year of drops.
