The Ohio house is now considering a budget-balancing plan approved in the ohio senate early Wednesday. On a 17-15 vote, senators approved a plan that raises the cigarette tax by $0.50 a pack, levies a new tax on trust funds, and cuts some state spending.
Governor Bob Taft tells Jim Letizia of member station WCBE in Columbus that he supports the plan, including the cigarette tax hike. |
