Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. And more thoughts on legislation that would dramatically change rules on unions in Ohio.

Fall-Out From Cleveland Police Shooting of Child.
July 3, 2001
The family of a six-year old Cleveland boy shot while an officer struggled
with a suspected drug dealer says they plan to sue the city. Cleveland Mayor Mike
White and the city's police department say the police shooting of Trevon Williams
was an accident. But Williams' family attorney Terry Gilbert says the city needs
to be held accountable for what happened calling it a matter of public safety.
Gilbert says he's asking the U.S. Justice Department to look into the case. Williams
is listed in good condition and is expected to be released from the hospital next
week.
