Numbers of Put-In-Bay visitors sickened with strange illness are dropping.

The numbers of people suffering from gastro-intestinal illnesses after visiting Put-In-Bay has dropped significantly, but the outbreak isn’t yet considered contained. Kristopher Weiss with the Ohio Department of Health told Ohio Public Radio’s Karen Kasler it appears people are taking the department’s recommendations on water seriously. Weiss can’t speculate on whether this outbreak will lead to changes in regulations for public and residential wells.
